I grew up with many stories.  Stories of my grandparents' and mother's immigration.  Stories of an ancestral past.  Stories of a passage of rites.  I have always been interested in memory - how we perceive, remember and forget.  What was once very real to us, over time, becomes surreal, unclear, faded and altered.  Paradoxically, there are instances in which our memory remains intact, but the physical, "real" surroundings change and become nonexistent.  My work focuses on the relationship between the real and remembered.  Memory to me is like snippets of film that are continually playing.  Sometimes one image becomes more insistent than another.  Each piece I do tells only a portion of a story.

I like to tell stories with pictures.  I like to help other people tell their stories with my pictures.
